The Isle of Bute is a picturesque island located off of Scotland’s West Coast. Small in size, big on scenery, the island is the inspiration behind the Isle of Bute Gins. Currently distilled by Simon Tardivel in Glasgow, the team are in the process of moving production back to Bute, with the goal of distillation on the Isle by 2020.
Simon regularly travels to Bute to forage for botanicals and he continues to explore the island for development of further expressions. The team seek to support jobs in the local community whilst showcasing local produce and collaboration between tourism offerings.
Believed to be a world first, Oyster Gin has been carefully distilled using fresh Oysters from Loch Fyne, a sea loch that’s part of the Argyll Coast. Blended with a combination of citrus peel and other botanicals to create a delicate maritime flavour profile.
