Raven Spirits Flying High

And celebrating ISGD in style.

Published: 19th October 2020

Raven Spirits is truly going International for International Scottish Gin Day. Along with the release of their new ISGD 2020 Cocktail book and partnering with official ISGD Sponsor Flexi-Hex, the Ravens have reached new shores with an export deal over the Atlantic. As if that wasn’t enough they’ve also continued to grow their international reputation in Asia with new awards.

Flying High to Canada

It’s been a busy few months for the team at Raven Spirits as they mark some new milestones in their Scottish Gin journey. Along with some new listings here in the UK, Europe and Asia, the brand is also heading across the Atlantic to Canada.

The company has just completed its first shipment of pallets to British Columbia. With their sights firmly set on growing their brand in international markets, Managing Director, Callum said “I’m both delighted and proud to see this first shipment of HRAFN GIN heading to Canada. In truth, it’s a couple of years ahead of our original development plan but, over the past 12 months, we’ve just embraced the opportunities, while meeting 2020’s challenges, to enter Canada earlier.”

With further growth planned for the Canadian market, along with their existing export contract to the Far East, which was secured in 2019, it’s encouraging to see once again another Scottish Gin brand flying high as they look to showcase their Scottish Gins to new markets.

ISGD 2020 Raven Spirits Cocktail Book

As part of their International Scottish Gin Day 2020 celebrations, Raven Spirits, run by brothers Callum and Peter Sim, has created a very special ISGD 2020 cocktail book ‘Shaken & Stirred’ with a selection of tasty tipples made with their range of Hrafn Gin. Free to download, the book features more about the Raven Spirits Scottish Gin journey along with the ingredients and methods for making the four cocktails featured. The book provides a fantastic chance to get creative at home with your Hrafn Gin and create yourself a tasty ISGD 2020 Hrafn Gin cocktail. Download from their homepage here.

Winter is coming and it’s recyclable

Alongside their signature Thought & Memory and higher strength Valhalla, the seasonal Winter edition of Hrafn Gin is back just in time for those colder days and darker nights. Bottled at 43%, Hrafn Gin is distilled using the Thought & Memory key botanicals with the addition of Omani Myrrh and rare Royal Green Hojari Frankincense to create a gin that balances juniper, citrus, spice and provides the senses with a warming glow. Available to pre-order here, with bottles arriving in the post on Saturday 24th October: International Scottish Gin Day!

Also as the Ravens continue to look at new ways of reducing their carbon footprint, they will now be shipping out orders using the innovative and 100% recyclable Flexi-Hex packaging system. The packaging system from Flexi-Hex is plastic free which means once you’ve received your gin all the packaging can go straight into your recycling bin. Learn more about this new partnership here.

Hrafn Gin sees double at the Gin Masters Asia

Hrafn Gin Thought & Memory was recognised at the Gin Masters Asia, having been awarded with the only Gold in the London Dry Gin category. Nick Law, co-founder of N.I.P. Gin in Hong Kong, said that Thought & Memory was one of his “favourite gins in the tasting.”

Alongside the success of Thought & Memory, the higher strength Valhalla picked up a Gold in the Ultra-Premium category. Alex Ko, Beverage Development Manager for Hong Kong’s Tastings Group said “it offers different flavours every time I came back to it. It starts off with fresh notes of juniper berry, then transitions to a significant amount of cassia. The intensity is great.”
