Meet the Sponsor

Claire Logan, Sales Manager, Vetroelite.

Published: 15th October 2020

It’s a skill that’s known to be at least 6000 years old, which has been passed down and shared between civilisations with the earliest examples worn for decoration. It can be formed by mother nature or by the skilled hands of a master craftsman. The material in question is glass.

Perfumes, whisky, spirits and of course gin, are presented to the consumer in all shapes, colours with any number of configurations. One company that’s pushed the boundaries of innovation, technology and the design aesthetic of how spirits can be presented is Vetroelite, with a rich history of developing tomorrow’s trends in glass containers, including jars, bottles, and carafes.

As an official sponsor of International Scottish Gin Day 2020, we recently caught up with Claire Logan, Sales Manager at Vetroelite UK, to learn more about how their products and services are helping play a role in shaping Scotland’s growing number of brands who are choosing Vetroelite as their key bottle partner.

What’s your name and what do you do?

I’m Claire Logan and I am one of the Sales Managers for Vetroelite. I cover Scotland and Ireland for the company, primarily focusing on the spirits industry. For my sins, I also take care of Norway and Iceland.

What exactly does VetroElite do?

Vetroelite is an Italian company designing and distributing an exclusive and premium collection of glass bottles, decanters and jars. Priding ourselves on our high level of quality, we offer an unrivalled flexibility of service and constant availability of product. Our philosophy at Vetroelite is:

At Vetroelite we fully understand the pride and passion that our customers put into their product, which is why we put the same pride and passion into every glass packaging project.

Can you give us a brief history of the business?

Vetroelite was established in 1994 in Ormelle, Italy, not too far from Treviso. The main focus of the business has always been to supply high quality glass packaging. Our portfolio of glass bottles and jars has expanded over the years, we cater not just for the spirit industry but also food, wine, perfume and home fragrance. Our bottles and jars are all our own design and we have plenty of stock readily available!

Whilst we remain a family business, we have certainly grown in the last few years! We have opened subsidiaries in the South of Italy, USA, Canada and the UK. We have 35 Sales Managers spread around the world aiming for world domination one day at a time!

Our Head Office in Ormelle is the home of all the major departments of the company. There is also an in-house team of passionate and experienced designers who work closely with us and our customers in order to make dreams a reality.

It’s amazing to think the company really has evolved from a local to global company over the last 25 years.

What does it mean to be a sponsor of International Scottish Gin Day?

Well, thank you guys for giving us the opportunity! Given that I have had the pleasure of working with so many Scottish Gin companies over the years, it is nice to be part of an event to celebrate everyone’s achievements. It’s a privilege to be associated with the success story of Scottish Gin.

What are some of the most exciting projects you’ve ever worked on?

Where to start? At the risk of being very boring and non committal… I can honestly say that every project I have worked on has provided a unique experience and learning curve. I’ve had the pleasure of working with such a different range of companies; from the brand new to the already established, whether it has been a new gin launching with one of our catalogue bottles or we are working with a brand moving them into their own bespoke bottle. If we take a bespoke bottle for example, that project is always unique and of course not without challenges, but the end results are always worth it! I love that I get to be part of the process from concept to completion.

What are your plans for the next 12 months?

First and foremost, I hope that we all come out of the current situation fighting and stronger than before. Over the next 12 months I / we want to ensure that we are by our customers side, supporting their needs and helping wherever we can. On top of that, we also want to continue bringing exciting new products to the market. I personally want to add a couple more bespoke bottle projects to my portfolio!

How will you be celebrating International Scottish Gin Day on Saturday 24th October?

For sure I’ll have a G&T or 3 to toast the day!
